About Omnitext
Omnitext is a software system for learning to read and date ancient manuscripts. The Omnitextual Manuscript Dating System (patent pending) is based on the ideas that models provide objectivity and that an omnitextual view of manuscript features provides the best basis for such models.
The first model available is for the domain of Greek minuscule literary manuscripts. This model was based on 22 dated manuscripts and was tested with 9 dated manuscripts. As of 2022, the base has grown to 44 dated manuscripts.

Pat Sanders, PhD
Over 10 years ago, Pat first conceived of dating ancient manuscripts by modeling dated manuscripts with decision trees; she then added analysis by ensembling as the decision tree methodology progressed. While working in Information Technology at BellSouth/AT&T, Pat studied this methodology for modeling and analysis in MBA courses at Samford University. The first implementation of Omnitext is based on her
interdisciplinary dissertation. This project is designed to not only help researchers obtain an objective date range for their manuscripts but to engage students in reading manuscripts and involve them in the modeling of manuscripts to help them learn how manuscript attributes affect their dating.
